Guwahati, 31 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that great work is being done towards digitization and automation of the transport system in Assam, which has benefited 34 lakh people so far.

CM Dr. Sarma said through social media on Monday that 56 contactless transport services have been provided in the state during this period, which is the highest in the country. In this regard, a state-of-the-art fully automated vehicle testing center was inaugurated in Bishwanath district on Monday.

This center is the first such center established by Applus Company in Asia, where vehicle owners can get fitness certificate without any human intervention. Under this process, they will not need to go to the DTO office, so that there will be no possibility of corruption.

The Chief Minister also announced that another such center will be started in Jorhat soon.
