Madrid,30 March (H.S.): Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, recognized his team's lack of balance despite a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Leganes. While praising their intensity in the second half, he noted that defensive issues contributed to the two goals conceded, which left his side trailing 2-1 at halftime.
I don't think we played a bad game. We had control, but lacked balance, Ancelotti said, indicating the team's struggle with counterattacks and possession management.
Ancelotti emphasized that enduring challenges is part of the game, asserting, You have to suffer. I don't remember a game where we haven't suffered.
Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring with a penalty, but Leganes quickly equalized through Diego Garcia, followed by Dani Raba's goal just before the break. Despite the adversity, Ancelotti expressed confidence in his players' performance. He highlighted Mbappe's contribution, who scored twice to reach 33 goals this season, matching Cristiano Ronaldo's tally in his first year at the club.
He is more active and
the difference, Ancelotti remarked. Looking ahead, Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey semi-final and Valencia in LaLiga, before visiting Arsenal for the Champions League quarter-finals. The coach remains positive about finding their rhythm post-international break.
