28 March (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited with hospitalized special
needs children at a government rehabilitation center on Friday, after four
children died and more than a dozen others became ill at the facility, probably
as a result of drinking polluted water, authorities said. According to state
government officials, the chief minister visited Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan
Combined Hospital, where children from the shelter home who were unwell are now
being treated.
After
visiting the hospitalized youngsters, officials stated that he may visit a
rehabilitation facility. The Nirvan Rajkiya Bal Grih, located in Lucknow's Para
region, shelters 147 youngsters, the majority of whom are orphans or have
mental problems. On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health
Minister Brajesh Pathak paid a visit to the hospital, where about 16 children
were being treated.

than 20 youngsters with special needs at the facility became unwell after
drinking polluted water and were sent to the hospital on Tuesday evening. Lucknow
District Magistrate Vishak G said that four minors, two girls and two boys aged
12 to 17, had perished. Their bodies
have been submitted for post-mortem examination, and the viscera will be kept
for future analysis. On Thursday, Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob
indicated that the youngsters became unwell after drinking tainted water. The
district administration has opened an inquiry into the event.
