Prayagraj,
05 Feb (H.S.): Because of the large gathering on the banks of Sangam, PM Modi
did not visit the Hanuman Temple or Akshay Vat. Earlier on Wednesday morning;
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sacred bath in Triveni Sangam as part of
the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. He was observed conducting puja while
standing in the water while Vedic-priest shouted mantras over a loudspeaker. He
prayed to Goddess Ganga with track trousers and a saffron blazer, holding a
'rudrakash mala'. The Prime Minister was spotted praying with folded palms
while listening to Vedic mantras recited in the background.
The
city has been placed on high alert in anticipation of the Prime Minister's
arrival, while numerous devotees have been taking holy dips in Sangam around
the clock. Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath boarded a boat to visit the
Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers merge.
