Dhemaji (Assam), 11 July (HS): Farmers protested in front of the Engineering Branch office of the Agriculture Department in Dhemaji on Friday. Hundreds of farmers gathered in support of their legitimate demands and turned the protest site into an agitation site by raising slogans.

This protest was organized under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh. More than two hundred farmers involved in the protest made the office premises resonate with slogans. Talking to journalists, the farmers alleged that there have been huge irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries, due to which they are disappointed and forced to protest.

The protesting farmers demanded from the government that they should be given their rights immediately and all their legitimate demands should be accepted.
