Kamrup, 25 February (HS): The 24th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Rangia, successfully concluded a 15-day beekeeping training program under the Civic Action Programme (North-East) of the Government of India. The training, which began on February 4, was conducted by Khadi Gram Udyog Vidyalaya at Kawli and Kumarikata.

A total of 30 participants (21 men and 9 women) took part in the training. The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Shri Ashwani Kumar Shukla, Deputy Commandant, 24th Bn SSB, Rangia. In his address, he highlighted the objective of the training—to equip border villagers and youth with beekeeping skills so they could adopt it as a means of livelihood and even explore its commercial potential.

Shri Shukla emphasized that beekeeping is a highly profitable sector with increasing global demand. He reiterated the commitment of the 24th Bn SSB to organizing such training programs for the economic empowerment of border residents, helping them become self-reliant and financially stable. He also assured that SSB will continue working for the welfare of the border communities under its motto of Service, Security, and Brotherhood.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local villagers, who appreciated the initiative. Several officers and personnel of the 24th Bn SSB were also present at the ceremony.
