NEW DELHI, 24 February (H.S.) : It is clear from Shashi Tharoor's comments that there is
still suspense regarding internal differences in Congress. However, there is
speculation about his meeting with Rahul Gandhi and his role in the future of
Congress. The tussle between Shashi Tharoor and Congress is increasing. Shashi
Tharoor warned Congress that if they do not need me, they have options open to
them. Congress angry with him for praising Kerala's LDF government. First
praised PM Modi, then Shashi Tharoor suggested Rahul Gandhi that if Congress
not trying to increase its support base then have to seat in the opposition. it
is natural to question what kind of options Shashi Tharoor is talking about. Is
he referring to BJP or LDF.
Tharoor, MP from Thiruvananthapuram, met Rahul Gandhi
recently regarding this. This meeting took place in a closed room. However,
Tharoor rejected the talk about changing the party and said that even though
there are differences of opinion in the party, he does not believe in leaving
the party.
The rift between Congress and Shashi Tharoor is now well
known. Things are not working out between Shashi Tharoor and Congress Party.
First praising PM Modi, then targeting Rahul Gandhi by Tharoor is not taken for
granted by the party. Now Shashi Tharoor has started playing from the
fore-front. Congress is angry with him for praising Kerala's LDF
government.
Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor has given such a hint, which may
raise the political heat. In fact, Shashi Tharoor has clearly said that if
Congress does not need him then he has options open to him. Even before this,
he had expressed his anger in front of Rahul Gandhi about his role. Shashi
Tharoor said that being elected four times MP from Thiruvananthapuram proves
that the public supports his ideas and his free expression related to the
development of the state and the country.
Shashi Tharoor said, I am always there to work for
party. But if Congress does not need my services, then I have 'options'
open. In such a situation, it is natural to question what kind of options
Shashi Tharoor is talking about. Is he referring to BJP or LDF? Because he has
praised both of them from time to time.
Shashi Tharoor even declared himself above Congress.
Regarding his election, he said that my support base in Thiruvananthapuram is
much more than that of the party. People like the way I talk and behave. Even
people who are generally against Congress voted for me. Tharoor indicated that
he is the frontrunner in the race to lead the Kerala Congress. This statement
of Shashi Tharoor has come at a time when he had recently targeted Rahul
Gandhi.
According to Sources, Resentment against Tharoor is
increasing among Kerala Congress leaders which reported to Rahul Gandhi.
Quoting sources, it was also said that the Congress high command (AICC) also no
longer wants to show leniency towards Tharoor.
