Delhi, 2 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ghana from July 2-3, marking his first bilateral visit to the country in three decades. He will engage in discussions with the President of Ghana to evaluate the existing bilateral partnership and explore opportunities for enhancing collaboration in economic, energy, and defence sectors, alongside development cooperation. This visit aims to strengthen ties and reaffirm India's commitment to engaging with the ECOWAS and the African Union.
Following Ghana, the Prime Minister will visit Trinidad & Tobago from July 3-4, at the invitation of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. This marks his first official visit as Prime Minister and the first in this capacity to T&T since 1999. He is set to hold talks with both the President and Prime Minister, focusing on reinforcing the India-Trinidad & Tobago relationship, and is expected to address a Joint Session of T&T's Parliament, thereby energizing historical ties.
From July 4-5, the Prime Minister will then travel to Argentina on an official visit at the invitation of President Mr. Javier Milei. Here, he will discuss enhancing India-Argentina partnerships in various sectors, including defence, agriculture, and renewable energy, contributing to the multi-dimensional Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
Next, the Prime Minister will attend the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil from July 5-8, at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. This will be his fourth visit to Brazil. The Summit, located in Rio de Janeiro, will address global issues such as governance reform, climate action, and health. Bilateral talks in Brasilia will further broaden the Strategic Partnership, emphasizing collaboration in trade, defence, and technology.
Finally, on July 9, the Prime Minister will visit Namibia, marking his inaugural trip to the country. He will meet with President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and pay homage to Namibia’s Founding Father, Dr. Sam Nujoma, emphasizing India's deep-rooted historical ties with Namibia.
