Fake currency notes worth Rs 14 lakh seized in     Palghar, 3 arrested


Mumbai, 24 Feb (HS):- Police seized fake currency

notes worth Rs 14 lakh in a raid in Pali village in Wada Tehsil of Palghar

district and arrested three people in this connection. The fake currency notes

of Rs 100 and Rs 500 denominations were seized.

Palghar Superintendent of Police Balasaheb informed

the media on Monday that the police received information about the scandal. On

Saturday bags of the three suspects were checked to detect the fake currency

notes. Those arrested have been named as Vikas alias Vikki Prakash Pawar (32),

Imtiaz Bashir Sheikh (56), and Wasim Anwar Sayyad (36). The three were involved

in printing fake currency notes in Pali village. Police also seized the

machines and other materials used for printing of currency notes.
