Guwahati, 08 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that the state government will unveil several special schemes on January 1, including a major initiative aimed at supporting students from economically weaker families.

Addressing the media after a meeting, the Chief Minister said the upcoming scheme for students is among the key announcements scheduled for the New Year. He added that the benefits will be extended only to students belonging to financially disadvantaged households, ensuring that the assistance reaches those who genuinely need it.

The CM noted that the government is working to strengthen educational support systems and uplift underprivileged students through targeted programmes.--------
