Murshidabad, 6 December (H.S.): Just before the foundation stone laying ceremony of the so-called Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, suspended Trinamool MLA Humayun Kabir launched a major political attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, questioning what minorities have gained in the last 15 years.

MLA Humayun Kabir said that in 2011, the majority of the state's minority population trusted Mamata Banerjee and brought her to power. But according to him, the Chief Minister has continuously lied and shown extreme arrogance.

He said, Whatever the Chief Minister does is right, everything else is wrong. Mamata Banerjee has become so arrogant. What have the minorities gained after making her the Chief Minister?

Notably, amidst the controversy arising from the announcement of the mosque's construction, the Trinamool Congress recently suspended Humayun Kabir from the party indefinitely. Since then, he has adopted a sharp stance against the party and the Chief Minister.

Humayun Kabir said, There are 37 percent minorities in Bengal. Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister with their votes. Now she has become so arrogant. I will be the one to make her the former Chief Minister. That is certain.

Moreover, Humayun Kabir has announced that he will form his own new party and field candidates in a total of 135 assembly constituencies, including 90 minority-dominated seats in West Bengal.

He said, We will reach the Assembly. If needed, we will sit in the opposition. We will demand the rights of minorities from the government. We will secure every single right.

He clarified that his fight will be for the just rights of Muslims.

In fact, Humayun Kabir's announcement of the construction of the Babri Masjid in Beldanga (Murshidabad) did not go down well with the party. The Trinamool Congress suspended him, calling it communal politics.
