West Bengal, 6 December (H.S.): A joint operation by the Bihar STF and Kolkata Police led to the arrest of a notorious land mafia from Bihar in a residential complex in West Bengal on Friday. The accused has several serious cases registered against him in Bihar, including land grabbing, extortion, and murder. A new case was recently registered against him following a firing incident in a colony, and the police were searching for him.

According to the police, after committing crimes, the accused, Naushad, often hid in Kolkata or Goa to evade arrest. This time, upon receiving information about his presence in Kolkata, Bihar Police, in collaboration with the local police, launched an operation and arrested him on Friday.

According to sources, the arrested accused will be taken to Patna on transit remand, where further investigations into the cases registered against him will be conducted.
