Chennai, 5 December (H.S.) : In a move to ensure continuity in the academic calendar, schools across Chennai have been ordered to remain open this Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The decision was announced by the Chennai District Chief Educational Officer and is intended to compensate for the three consecutive holidays declared earlier this week.

The closures, which occurred on December 2, 3, and 4, were necessitated by the heavy rainfall brought by Cyclone Ditwah.

The working Saturday is mandated to recover the academic days lost during the weather disruption.
