Nadia, 31 December (H.S.): While the SIR hearing process is underway across the state, a shocking incident has come to light from Nadia district. In Ward No. 13 of Shantipur Municipality, an incident involving the burning of sacks full of Aadhaar cards, bank documents, and post office-related papers on Wednesday morning has caused a stir in the area.

According to local residents, a man was seen burning sacks of documents in an abandoned area. When people approached the spot out of suspicion, they found Aadhaar cards, post office documents, and bank-related papers being burned. When questioned by the locals, the man could not give a satisfactory answer, further deepening the suspicion.

Some locals claimed that the man's son previously worked at the Shantipur Post Office, although he is no longer employed there. Despite this, the question of how he came into possession of such a large quantity of Aadhaar cards and bank documents remains unanswered, and the entire incident is shrouded in mystery.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Shantipur police arrived at the scene and took the man into custody. The police have seized the burnt and partially burnt documents and have launched an investigation into the entire matter. The police are trying to ascertain the origin of these documents, the reason for burning them, and whether there is a larger network involved.

The Shantipur Municipality has also taken this matter seriously. The Chairman of the municipality, Subrata Ghosh, stated that a thorough investigation is being conducted and that the police are being provided with all possible cooperation. He said that the truth will only be revealed after the investigation is complete.

Currently, the police are interrogating the detained man, and the case is being investigated from all angles.
