New Delhi, 29 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated India’s chess grandmasters Arjun Erigaisi and Koneru Humpy for their stellar performances at the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship 2025, held in Doha, Qatar.Both players brought laurels to the nation by clinching bronze medals in their respective categories—Erigaisi in the Open section and Humpy in the Women’s section—further strengthening India’s rising stature in the global chess arena.

In a post shared on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi commended Koneru Humpy for her impressive strength and consistency, appreciating her dedicated efforts and perseverance that earned her the bronze medal.
