Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday paid floral tributes to the martyrs of the Assam Movement at the Shahid Smarak Kshetra in Guwahati, honouring those who laid down their lives for the cause during the historic agitation.

Describing the Shahid Smarak as a powerful symbol of the intense patriotism of the people who made the supreme sacrifice, Shah said the memorial reflects the indomitable spirit and dedication shown by the martyrs of the Assam Movement. He noted that their sacrifice holds a permanent place in the nation’s history.

The Home Minister said the memorial would continue to inspire future generations to live a life devoted to the nation and to work selflessly for the country’s interests. Paying homage to the martyrs, he said their courage, resolve and commitment to society and the nation remain a guiding force for the entire country.

Shah expressed deep reverence for the martyrs, stating that their sacrifice and dedication would always be remembered with pride and gratitude by the nation.
