New Delhi, 27 December (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s advisor, Sam Pitroda, for describing the Congress as part of the Global Progressive Alliance, alleging that this alliance is linked with anti-India global networks.
The BJP claimed that Pitroda’s remarks have “inadvertently revealed the Congress party’s true face.”During a press conference at the BJP headquarters, party spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi said it was a well-known fact that Rahul Gandhi often undertakes trips abroad, where he is frequently seen expressing disappointment about India.
“Now, his ideological mentor and long-time family advisor, Sam Pitroda—who also served as an advisor to his late father, Rajiv Gandhi—has openly stated in an interview that the Congress is a part of the Global Progressive Alliance, and that Rahul Gandhi visited Germany to attend one of its meetings,” Trivedi said.
Trivedi added that the Global Progressive Alliance is associated with certain international platforms and organizations that are “aligned with anti-India narratives and interests.”
He emphasized, “By admitting this, Sam Pitroda has, perhaps unknowingly, exposed the Congress’s real ideological alliances.”Raising questions for the Congress, Trivedi said, “What are these 110 countries you claim are part of this so-called democratic coalition? Nearly 57 of these are Muslim-majority nations where democracy is either weak or non-existent. Are these the countries now trying to undermine India—the world’s largest democracy?”
The BJP spokesperson further alleged that during his visit to Germany, Rahul Gandhi met Cornelia Woll, President of the Central European University, which, according to Trivedi, is financially supported by George Soros’s Open Society Foundations.
“Sam Pitroda has himself acknowledged that Rahul Gandhi is part of the presidium of this alliance, and he (Pitroda) is a member,” Trivedi claimed.
Trivedi went on to question Pitroda’s dismissive response when asked about his association with George Soros and related groups. “He says, ‘It doesn’t matter to me.’ If it truly doesn’t, then whose interests are you serving? During an active Parliament session, under whose direction does Rahul Gandhi travel abroad?” he asked.
The BJP concluded that the Congress must clarify whether it has indeed become part of what the party describes as an anti-India global nexus aimed at “weakening India’s democratic and nationalist foundations.”
