Jammu, 24 December (H.S.): Taking a tough stand against the Shrine Board, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti has opened front against the Board’s Chairman, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and called upon civil society, public representatives, and MLAs to boycott the programs of incumbent LG.
These announcements were made by the Samiti’s convener, Colonel Sukhvir Singh Mankotia, while addressing a press conference following a core committee meeting held on Tuesday in the presence of senior members.
Colonel Sukhvir Singh Mankotia informed the media about the recent visit of the Samiti’s senior members to Delhi and shared details of their meeting with Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda. He stated that the Samiti presented its views to Mr Nadda in strong terms, and in response, the Minister assured a resolution soon.
However, Mankotia expressed deep resentment over the alleged negative attitude of the Lt Governor and members of the Shrine Board.
Mankotia alleged that the MBBS admissions in this medical institute took place with the full knowledge of LG Manoj Sinha and the head of the institute, Dr Yashpal. He stated that besides these two individuals, the members of the Board are also complicit in this “sin.” He warned that there is still time for them to rectify their mistake; otherwise, their names will go down in the history of the Shrine Board alongside figures like Jaichand, Tamerlane, and Aurangzeb.
Emphasizing that this is a battle of faith, he declared that if necessary, they would even ensure the medical college is shut down, but they will not rest until the Shrine Board’s decision is overturned.
He further announced that to accelerate their movement, the Sangharsh Samiti has decided to hold a massive protest outside Lok Bhawan on December 27. He urged all MLAs from the Jammu division, regardless of their political ideology, to support the Samiti in protesting against the LG, warning that failing to do so would result in intense protests outside their own residences. Mankotia also appealed to the general public of the Jammu division to join the Sangharsh Samiti in this protest.
