
Rangiya (Assam), 24 December (HS): Kamal Boro of Ghograpar was felicitated by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Rangiya, for his timely action in preventing a possible railway mishap after he spotted a herd of nine elephants crossing the railway track in the Rangiya–Ghograpar section on Wednesday.
According to railway sources, Kamal Boro noticed the elephant movement near the track and immediately alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and other railway authorities. Acting on the information, railway officials took precautionary measures to ensure the safety of both wildlife and train operations.
Officials said this was the first recorded instance of elephant movement in the Rangiya–Ghograpar railway section, making the alert particularly significant. The DRM appreciated Kamal Boro’s presence of mind and sense of responsibility, stating that such public cooperation plays a crucial role in wildlife protection and railway safety.----------
