Guwahati, 23 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday paid rich tributes to Acharya Ilaram Das, the founder of Eksharan Bhagawati Samaj, on his sacred birth anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to building a harmonious and inclusive society through spiritual consciousness.

The Chief Minister said in his social media massage that Acharya Ilaram Das was a devoted follower of the religious philosophy, art and cultural legacy of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev and Sri Sri Madhavdev. He dedicated his entire life to spiritual thought and action with the aim of creating a society free from divisions.

Describing him as a great Vaishnav scholar and a proponent of universal brotherhood, Dr Sarma said that through Eksharan Bhagawati Samaj, Acharya Ilaram Das worked tirelessly to bind the hills and plains of Assam with the bond of unity.

On the occasion of his birth anniversary, the Chief Minister offered his heartfelt homage and paid deep respects to the revered saint and social reformer.
