Bhubaneswar, 22 December (H.S.): The Odisha government has extended the deadline for refund claims of small chit fund depositors, allowing eligible investors to seek reimbursement until January 31, 2026.

In an official notification issued on Monday, the Finance Department said the refund mechanism will remain open for small investors whose claims have been verified and recommended by the Chit Fund Investigation Commission, but who are yet to receive their dues.

The department has urged all eligible depositors to complete the required formalities within the extended timeframe to facilitate timely disbursal of pending refunds.

As per the notification, depositors who had invested up to ₹10,000 in chit fund companies and whose claims have already been verified by the Commission are eligible under the ongoing phase of refunds. Additionally, investors of Golden Land Developers who had invested up to ₹8,000 and were not covered in the first phase of repayment will also be included.

The Finance Department clarified that the extension aims to ensure that genuine small investors, who were earlier left out despite being eligible, are given another opportunity to receive their refunds.
