New Delhi, 21 December (H.S.): Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced on Sunday that the government, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's leadership, has sealed 386 polluting industrial units as part of its commitment to a pollution-free capital.
In a post on social media platform X, Sirsa revealed that during the BJP government's tenure, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) conducted a comprehensive survey of 5,236 factories across its 12 zones. Of these, 430 units were found guilty of violating air and water pollution norms, leading to the immediate sealing of 386 offenders on the spot.
Sirsa emphasized that those tampering with Delhi's air quality will face no leniency, with intensified monitoring underway. He appealed to citizens to report any factories breaching regulations in their vicinity via the Green Delhi app.
