Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for two pivotal National Highway projects valued at approximately ₹3,200 crore during his visit to West Bengal today, Saturday, December 20, 2025. The event, scheduled at around 11:15 AM in Ranaghat, Nadia district, underscores his unwavering commitment to bolstering India's infrastructure under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative.
These developments on NH-34 will establish a vital conduit linking Kolkata and Siliguri, slashing travel time by nearly two hours while ensuring seamless vehicular movement, diminished operating costs, and enhanced regional interconnectivity.
Prime Minister Modi will specifically inaugurate the completed 66.7 km four-laning of the Barajaguli-Krishnanagar section in Nadia district and initiate construction for the 17.6 km Barasat-Barajaguli stretch in North 24 Parganas district.
