Kolkata, 17 December (H.S.). Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Mohan Rao Bhagwat is scheduled to participate in two programmes in Siliguri on December 18 and 19 as part of the organisation’s centenary celebrations.

The events are being organised by the RSS Uttar Banga Prant, which covers eight districts of North Bengal along with the neighbouring state of Sikkim. Announcing the programmes, Uttar Banga Prant Prachar Pramukh Samir Kumar Ghosh said that the RSS has completed 100 years of dedicated service, discipline and commitment to society.

A Youth Conference will be held on December 18 at Shatabdi Sadan on Sevoke Road. This will be followed on December 19 by a discussion programme titled “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh: A Journey of 100 Years” at the Uttar Banga Marwari Bhawan, also located on Sevoke Road.

Bhagwat will attend both programmes as the chief speaker. The discussion programme will also feature an interactive question and answer session with intellectuals from the eight districts of North Bengal and the state of Sikkim.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was founded in 1925 on the occasion of Vijayadashami by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar with the objective of organising Hindu society and contributing to the building of a strong and prosperous nation.

As part of its centenary year, the RSS is organising various programmes across the country to mark the milestone and reaffirm its commitment to nation building and social service.
