Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Congress MP Shashi Tharoor congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday for its stellar performance in the Thiruvananthapuram municipal corporation elections in his parliamentary constituency.Tharoor described the victory as more than an electoral win—a pivotal shift in the capital's politics. He clarified his aim was to end the Left Democratic Front (LDF)'s 45 years of alleged mismanagement, yet voters empowered the BJP, which vocally demanded change.

Tharoor noted that change-seeking voters opted for BJP over the United Democratic Front (UDF), a decision deserving respect. He affirmed Congress's commitment to state betterment, public needs, and good governance principles. Tharoor also hailed the UDF's successes in Kerala's local body polls.
