New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh hailed the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) Fund on Saturday as a historic catalyst empowering India's private sector in frontier technologies, intellectual property creation, and commercialization.

Addressing the RDI Fund outreach program in New Delhi, Singh described it as a global first, where the government enables private innovation through long-term, guarantee-free, low-interest loans and equity instruments.He clarified this as no handout but a strategic accelerator for deep-tech advancement benefiting industry, society, and the nation.

Drawing parallels to NASA-like ecosystems reliant on strong public support, Singh urged stakeholders to leverage the fund for high-risk, ambitious research to achieve global competitiveness. With courage and trust, he concluded, it promises a win-win model for all.
