
Raigad, 27 Nov (HS): The people of Sakoli in
Bhandara district has launched novel campaign for the ensuing municipal elections.
The voters want the candidates in fray to sign an agreement on stamp paper to
control corruption.
The candidates are required to signs and agreement
in which certain conditions are mentioned. If elected they will not accept
commission in any tender procedure. They will not indulge in any corrupt practices.
The candidates will utilise entire funds in a transparent manner for the welfare
of the people. In case any corrupt practice is noticed, he/she will himself
will report it to the police. All the
decisions will be taken in the presence of the voters.
The most important condition in ten agreement is
that in case of violation of any condition, the elected candidate will tender
resignation.
The move by the voters of Sakoli is an issue of
discussion in Nagpur, Pune, Nashik and other places in Maharashtra. The
candidates contesting the elections, however are spending sleepless nights.
