Azamgarh,
16 Nov (HS): Shamsul Hussain, a madrasa teacher from Azamgarh, has settled in
the UK since 2007. Despite this, he continued to receive his salary and other
allowances. Now, three DMOs are involved in the ATS investigation. These three
officers are currently posted in Bareilly, Amethi, and Ghaziabad districts. The
Minority Welfare Directorate has sent a report to the government. Strict action
is certain in this matter.
Three
District Minority Welfare Officers (DMOs), Lalman, Prabhat Kumar, and Sahitya
Nikat Singh, have been implicated in the salary hike and other payments case of
Shamsul Huda Khan, a madrasa teacher from Azamgarh who lives in Britain.
Reports have been submitted to the government against these officers, who were
posted in Azamgarh at different times. Currently, these three are serving as DMOs
in Bareilly, Amethi, and Ghaziabad, respectively.
This
case was uncovered by an investigation by the UP ATS. The investigation
revealed that Shamsul was appointed as an assistant teacher (Aaliya) at Madrasa
Darul Uloom Ahle Sunnat Madrasa Ashrafia Mubarakpur (Azamgarh) on July 12,
1984. He had been living in the UK since 2007. He acquired British citizenship
on December 19, 2013.
Pension
was also approved by giving voluntary retirement: The Minority Welfare
Department continued to grant him annual pay increases from 2007 to 2017
without reviewing his service book. Furthermore, he was granted voluntary
retirement and a pension was also approved on August 1, 2017.
According
to the ATS, Shamshul, who holds British citizenship, has been traveling to
various countries, promoting Islam. In Uttar Pradesh, the madrasa's manager and
principal, along with Azamgarh's then-DMO, Lalman, Prabhat Kumar, and Sahitya
Nikat Singh, have been held responsible for Shamshul's alleged illegal salary,
medical leave, and other payments. Strict action is expected against them.
Directorate
officials also under investigation: The officials of the Minority Welfare
Directorate who signed Shamshul's voluntary retirement file and GPF payment
have also been placed under investigation by the government. No clear
conclusion has yet been reached on whether action will be taken against these
officials, so their names are not being included currently
