New Delhi, 9 January (H.S.): Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna and the country's largest steel making public sector company, has supplied about 45,000 tonnes of steel for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 to be held in Prayagraj. Steel supplied includes checkered plates, hot strip mill plates, mild steel plates, angles and joists.
A spokesperson of the Union Ministry of Steel said that earlier also SAIL had supplied steel during the 2013 Maha Kumbh Mela, which reflects the company's continued support for this remarkable public event. He informed that the steel supplied by SAIL will play an important role in the construction of various temporary structures required for the smooth and successful conduct of Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. These include pontoon bridges, pathways, temporary steel bridges, sub-stations and flyovers. The major customers of this steel supply include Public Works Department, Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation, Electricity Boards and their suppliers.
SAIL has said that it is proud to contribute steel for such a large scale event, which also symbolizes the rich cultural heritage of the country. The company is committed to contributing to national projects that enhance the country's infrastructure and promote its cultural and social well being.
