New Delhi, 9 January (H.S.): In view of Asia's largest arms exhibition 'Aero India', Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair a round table meeting with ambassadors here on Friday. Invitation letters have been sent to ambassadors and high commissioners of more than 150 friendly countries to participate in the program. In the meeting, they will be informed about the major programs of Aero India. The senior leadership of the concerned countries will be personally invited by the Defense Minister.
The 15th edition of Asia's largest aero show Aero India will be held from 10 to 14 February at Air Force Station, Yelahanka in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The five-day event will include a preview event, opening ceremony, conference of defence ministers, CEO round-table, IDEX start-up event, spectacular air display, a large exhibition area with India Pavilion and a trade fair of aeronautical companies.
The theme this time is 'The Runway to a Billion Opportunities', which will focus on building partnerships between foreign and Indian firms and exploring new avenues to accelerate the indigenisation process.
Aero India will have a large number of exhibitors from the world's leading industries in the aeronautical and defence sector. Several bilateral meetings will be held during the event at the level of Defence Minister, Minister of State for Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary.
The focus will be on strengthening defence and aerospace relations with friendly countries, so that new avenues can be found to take the partnership to the next level.
The CEO roundtable is expected to provide a suitable platform to foreign original equipment manufacturers to manufacture in India. Global CEOs, CMDs of domestic PSUs and Chairman and Managing Directors of major private defence and aerospace manufacturing companies of India will participate in this program.
