Kolkata, 9 January (H.S.): The judicial process in the horrific rape and murder case of a 31-year-old woman doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College has concluded. The Sealdah Court on Thursday has announced that the verdict will be pronounced on January 18, 2025, at noon. Kolkata police civic volunteer Sanjay Roy has been considered sole accused in this case.A 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College was brutally raped on August 9.The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), under the directives of the Calcutta High Court, conducted the investigation. Accused Sanjay Roy was arrested and charged as the lone accused. The CBI has sought the maximum punishment for him in court.
