New Delhi, 9 January (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the stampedes during the sale of Tirumala temple darshan tickets in Tirupati on Wednesday, January 8. In a statement from his office, he expressed his pain and offered his thoughts and prayers to the families of those who lost their lives.
Five women and one man were killed, and 29 others were injured in the stampedes that took place at three different locations during the sale of tickets for Vaikunta Dwara Darshan.
Leaders from various political parties, including Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, also expressed their condolences and urged their party members to provide assistance to those affected.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay requested the Andhra Pradesh government to give the injured the best possible medical care and prayed for their speedy recovery.
