Aizawl, 09 January (HS): Assam Rifles recovered 31 boxes of foreign cigarettes from Vengtlang area of Champhai district of Mizoram in a joint operation with Customs Preventive Force (Champhai). The estimated value of these cigarettes is said to be ₹40.30 lakh.

This action by the security forces is part of the drive being run to stop smuggling in Mizoram. The seized cigarettes have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further action.
