
Guwahati, 09 April (HS): Voting for the Assam Legislative Assembly elections witnessed active participation from candidates and prominent personalities across the state, even as rain lashed several areas on Thursday.
At the 5 No. Suwagpur Primary School in Goreswar, Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary cast his vote along with his family members. In Guwahati, BJP candidate from the Central Guwahati constituency, Vijoy Gupta, also exercised his franchise.
Senior leaders and Minister Ashok Singhal and Neelam Devi were among those who cast their votes early in the day. In Aainiati, Satradhikar Dr. Sri Sri Pitambar Dev Goswami participated in the polling process despite rainfall, underscoring the importance of democratic participation.
