Nalbari (Assam), 29 January (HS): The Food Safety and Non-Strategic Supplies Department on Wednesday launched a drive in Nalbari regarding the increasing problem of hybrid garlic from China in the state recently. Several sacks were seized while taking action against the sale of Chinese garlic in the markets of Nalbari.

Departmental officials said that Chinese garlic has spread in various markets of Nalbari and several sacks of Chinese garlic were seized in today's drive. Traders are now expressing concern against this drive, as it is directly affecting their business.
