BSF Eastern Command Holds Field Commanders' Conference to Review Border Challenges


Kolkata, 17 January (H.S.):

A crucial field commanders' conference was held today at the Eastern Command headquarters of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Kolkata. The conference aimed to review operational activities along the India-Bangladesh border and address challenges arising from political changes in Bangladesh.

The conference witnessed the participation of Inspectors General and other staff officers from six BSF frontiers, including South Bengal, North Bengal, Guwahati, Meghalaya, Mizoram & Cachar, and Tripura.

In his opening remarks, the Additional Director General (Eastern Command) commended the dedication and hard work of all personnel in controlling cross-border crimes and infiltration. He highlighted that the past year was highly challenging, but the BSF managed the situation professionally in coordination with allied agencies and the counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh.

Discussions focused on strengthening border security, leveraging modern technology, and improving infrastructure in border areas. Additionally, the need for better coordination with border populations was emphasized.

At the conclusion of the conference, BSF reaffirmed its commitment to developing transformational solutions to enhance border security.
