Bengal Govt Announces Key IAS Reshuffle, Debal Roy Takes Charge of Forest Department


Kolkata, 3 April (H.S.) - The West Bengal government has made a minor reshuffle in the IAS cadre, appointing senior officers to key positions across various departments, an official said on Thursday.

Debal Roy has been named the principal secretary of the forest department while retaining his current role as the principal chief conservator of forests. He replaces Manoj Kumar Agarwal, who was recently appointed as the chief electoral officer of West Bengal.

Rajesh Sinha, the principal secretary of the housing, youth services, and sports department, has been given additional charge of the disaster management and civil defence departments.

Anshul Gupta has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). Dipika Sanyamath will replace him as the secretary of the mass education extension and library services department.

Uma Sankar S has been named the senior special secretary of the agriculture department.
