Mumbai, 03 Apr (HS):- Crores of rupees were recovered
from two officers of the Sasoon Hospital in Pune, by the Anti-Corruption Bureau
(ACB) sleuths on Thursday. Based on intelligence information an ACB team raided
their houses to detect huge unaccounted property collected by them. Both were
presented in a court, which granted them police custody till April 5.
The ACB team on Wednesday caught Suresh Banwale and
Jayant Chaudhari while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 each. This followed the
raids at their residences. The ACB team recovered Rs 39 lakh uncounted cash
from Chaudhari’s home and Rs 1,35,95,000 from Banwale’s home. They were arrested
and produced before a court in Pune’s Shivaji Nagar on Thursday.
Police are interrogating them, as many complaints
were received against them. Other staff members may be arrested in this
connection.
