- Professors, staff and students of the university together lit a 456-yard lamp

Guwahati, 4 September (HS): On the initiative of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Gauhati University Group, the 456th disappearance date of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev was celebrated on the university campus on Wednesday. In the evening, on the occasion of the 456th disappearance date of the great saint, 456 lamps were lit on the open stage of the university and a program of Nam Kirtan was organised.

On this occasion, professors and faculty members of Gauhati University as well as a large number of students of the university were present.
