New Delhi, September 16 (HS): Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar will inaugurate 'Social Empowerment Camp' at various places and aspiring blocks across the country on Tuesday.

Under the 'Social Empowerment Camp', assistive devices will be distributed to Divyangjans, which will empower life with mobility and independence.

On Monday, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment informed that free distribution of assistive devices will be done to the beneficiaries in more than 70 aspiring blocks and 5 other places, the entire cost of which will be borne by the Central Government. Registration facility will also be available for new beneficiaries in the camps. The ministry said that assistive devices and equipment were distributed to more than 29 lakh beneficiaries in more than 16 thousand camps. Along with this, more than 6,793 cochlear implant surgeries were done.
