Aizawl, 02 July (HS): Due to continuous rain for the last two days, landslides have occurred at many places in Mizoram. On Tuesday, landslides caused massive destruction in the state. Three houses were completely destroyed due to landslides in the Juangui area of Aizawl this morning. However, no casualties have been reported during this time.

As a precaution, 20 families were evacuated from their homes to safer places by the local council of Salem Veng in Aizawl. Many other landslides in different parts of Mizoram have also caused heavy damage to property.

The administration is constantly monitoring the situation. Despite bad weather, extensive rescue operations are being carried out by the administration.
