Shillong, 16 June (HS): The Guwahati-Silchar road has been completely blocked due to a landslide on the Guwahati-Silchar road in Lumsulum, Meghalaya. A huge amount of soil and rocks fell on the road from the mountain amid heavy rains on Sunday. The road has been completely damaged due to this landslide.

Despite the rain, the administration is working on a war footing to clear the road. On Saturday also a landslide had occurred at a short distance from it. However, the road was cleared by Saturday evening. Due to this landslide once again, the road has been badly damaged. A large number of vehicles have queued up on both sides of the road. Due to the continuous rainfall, landslides have been reported at many other places in Meghalaya.
