Lucknow, 26 April (HS): According to authorities, the voter participation in Uttar Pradesh's eight parliamentary constituencies was 35.73 percent as of 1 p.m. on Friday in phase two of the Lok Sabha election. Polling began at 7 a.m. and will continue until 6 p.m. The second phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh is currently ongoing in the seats of Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura.

According to Election Commission (EC) authorities, 40.67 percent of the votes were cast in Amroha, 38.33 percent in Meerut, 34.17 percent in Baghpat, 33.99 percent in Ghaziabad, 36.05 percent in Gautam Buddh Nagar, 35.35 percent in Bulandshahr, 35.55 percent in Aligarh, and 32.70 percent in Mathura as of 1 p.m. There are more than 1.67 crore voters, 7,797 voting stations and 17,704 polling booths in UP’s 8 parliamentary seats, where voting is underway.
