Imphal, April 26 (HS). The recovery of arms and ammunition continues in Manipur. In this connection, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered in the operation of joint security forces. Manipur Police informed today that the search operations and area dominance were conducted by security forces in border and sensitive areas of hill and valley districts. During the search operation four Improvised Long Range Mortar (Pompi), one fired case of Improvised Long Range Mortar (Pompi round), two fired cases of Lathod, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine, two 303 rounds with one magazine. Rifles, along with 34 live ammunition rounds, three No. 36 hand grenades without detonator, were recovered from the hill top of Sabungkhok Khunau in Imphal East District. Search operations are being conducted across the state by the security forces.
