Raipur, April 26 (HS): Till 11 am, 35.47 percent voting took place in 3 Lok Sabha seats of Chhattisgarh. Voting was 32.99 percent in Rajnandgaon, 39.38 percent in Kanker and 34.43 percent in Mahasamund.

A 90 year old voter arrived at the polling station in Balod sitting on a wheel chair to cast her vote. Voting is taking place amidst tight security in Aamora, Odh, a deeply Naxal area of Gariaband. Both these extremely Naxal areas are situated on a 1200 feet high hill. There are more than 1 thousand voters in both the polling stations.

Varsha Sinha, a female voter of Albelapara, came to vote after Haldi Rashm, before the procession. Newly married bride and groom Rameshwar Markam voted and also took a selfie at the Odiyakala polling station of Sahaspur Lohara development block of Kabirdham district. The wedding procession of the groom Dugesh Chandrakar is going to take place today at polling station number 185 Kachandur. Before leaving for the wedding procession, the groom along with his father reached booth number 185 of Kachandur and cast his vote.

In Kanker, Congress candidate Biresh Thakur cast his vote in Korer. BJP candidate Bhojraj Nag from Kanker Lok Sabha seat cast his vote after visiting the temple. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma voted in Kawardha. Former MP Abhishek Singh also voted in Kawardha.

Voting is being boycotted in many villages of Udanti Sanctuary of Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency. After receiving this information, top officers reached the village. Where officers are discussing with the villagers in Bamhanijhola Mandi. SP Amit Tukaram Kamble is also present.Gariaband Voters of 9 villages falling under the booths of Koyaba, Nagesh, Sahebinakchhar and Gariba of the district are boycotting the voting.

Before the elections, more than 30 villages had announced voting boycott. But at other places the administration was successful in convincing the voters and at other places people are still adamant.
