Hooghly, 06 May (HS): A nine-year-old child lost his life in a bomb blast that took place on Monday morning at Netaji Colony area of Pandaua under Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency, while two other friends of the child were seriously injured in this incident. At present, the injured children are being treated at Chuchura Imambara Sadar Hospital.

According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Raj Vishwas. He had recently come to his maternal uncle''s house. On Monday morning, when he went to play with his friends, Saurabh Chaudhary and Rupam Vallabh, near the pond, suddenly a bomb exploded.

On information, a large number of police force along with senior officials of Hooghly District Police (rural) reached the spot and inspected it.

Hooghly''s outgoing MP and BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee also reached the spot and consoled the weeping families. Locket expressed her displeasure over the delay in the arrival of the bomb squad and also raised questions on the working style of the police. In protest against this incident, Locket sat on the road with her supporters, due to which the road got blocked. Locket assured justice for the victim families.
