Barpeta (Assam), 05 May (HS): Film actress Mandakini reached Assam on Sunday, the last day of election campaign for the third and final phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections and participated in the road show of independent candidate Dulu Ahmed from Barpeta seat.

Actress Mandakini appealed to make the independent candidate of Barpeta Lok Sabha seat Dulu Ahmed victorious by voting on 'Jahaj Chhap'. The actress said that those who serve the public and work for the region should vote. She said that Dulu Ahmed is always engaged in serving the public. It is noteworthy that Dulu Ahmed was seeking Aam Aadmi Party ticket. After not getting a ticket from the Aam Aadmi Party, he filed nomination papers as an independent candidate.

Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency has a large number of Muslim voters. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidate Abdul Khaleque had won the election from here. In this election, instead of giving the ticket to outgoing MP Khaleque, Congress gave the ticket to Dweep Bayan.

NDA supported Assam Gana Parishad gave the ticket to Phani Bhushan Chaudhary from here. In such a situation, naturally the first choice of Muslim voters will be Dulu Ahmed. Dulu Ahmed's name is included among the millionaire candidates of the state.

According to the details given to the Election Commission, Dulu Ahmed's personal assets are worth ₹65 crore. Despite being an independent candidate in the election campaign, Dulu Ahmed campaigned vigorously. Mandakini's visit to Barpeta was a center of great attraction for the local voters.
