Guwahati, 25 April (HS): Congress candidate from Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency Meira Barthakur has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is luring women by violating the electoral code of conduct.

Addressing a press conference at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan on Thursday, the Congress candidate said that Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is openly luring students to give Rs 10,000 in the election rally. At the same time, she also alleged that BJP workers are going door-to-door telling women that Rs 10,000 will be given to women within a month of the elections.

Also, BJP workers are misleading women by saying that if they do not vote for the BJP candidate, they will not get the benefits of the schemes. Congress candidate Barthakur said that this is a blatant violation of the election code of conduct. During the press conference, the Congress candidate made many more allegations against the BJP.
