Kolkata, 04 May(HS): Were the harassment of women in Sandeshkhali scripted? These questions are being raised because a video, going viral on Saturday, claims so. However, Hindusthan Samachar does not confirm the authenticity of the video.

In the viral video, a person is heard admitting that various allegations including rape were made as per a plan. The man has been identified as Gangadhar Kayal, claimed to be the BJP''s ''Mandal President'' of Sandeshkhali 2 Block. The Trinamool Congress has slammed the BJP for tarnishing the image of West Bengal.

It is claimed that the video was recorded through a hidden camera in Sandeshkhali. According to local sources, Gangadhar''s house, seen in the video, is in Singhpara area of Sandeshkhali. The local BJP leadership claimed that he is not the Mandal President. He is just a supporter of their party. BJP''s Basirhat organizational district vice president Vivek Roy claimed that he is not mentally healthy.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Addressing an election rally in Chakdah of Nadia district, said, ''''The entire incident of Sandeshkhali was pre-planned. The BJP scripted the incident. Now the truth has come out. I was saying this for a long time.'''' Moreover, she said, ''''I have not seen the full video but I will definitely watch it.'''' She claimed that Sandeshkhali was just a conspiracy hatched by the BJP to defame Bengal.
