Nagon (Assam), 04 May (HS): A six-year-old girl student died in a tragic road accident that took place on Saturday afternoon at Akharanga on the Hatbar-Bamuni road in Kaliabor. This accident happened when a vehicle laden with bricks hit a student returning home from school.

Nikita Saikia, a Class 1 student of Shishu Niketan, Kaliyabor, was returning home in a tempo. The girl was hit by a speeding brick-carrying vehicle when she got down from the tempo near her house and was trying to cross the road. The victim of the accident was the only daughter of Nayanjyoti Saikia and Moni Saikia of Nikita Akharanga.

After the accident, the pickup full of bricks (AS 05AC 5001) fled from the spot. Later Jakhalabandha police seized the vehicle.
